Overcome the “not enough” feeling. Practical ways to silence self-doubt and step into your self-worth.
Last year, I read about 30 books, prioritized on maintaining a healthy diet and lifestyle, created about 10 pieces of art that I’m proud of, enrolled for a couple of certification courses.
It’s not that difficult actually. We all have those days where it feels like things aren’t going our way. Instead of letting frustration consume us, I think it’s wise to flip the script and use our free time to focus on self-improvement and personal growth. Instead of “trying to not think negative”, I’ve realised a more effective way to manage negative thoughts is to have “positive actionables”.
Here’s an easy to-do list to kickstart this self-development journey:
1. Identify Your Strengths: Most important. Reflect on what makes you unique. Are you a great communicator? A creative thinker? Identify your strengths and find ways to build on them.
2. Set Personal Goals: Define what you want to achieve in the short and long term. Whether it’s learning a new skill, reading, improving your fitness, or expanding your network, having clear goals will give you direction.
3. Continuous Learning: Dive into books, online courses, podcasts, and webinars. Knowledge is power, and continuous learning keeps you ahead of the curve.
4. Mindfulness and Self-Care: Take care of your mental and physical well-being. Practice mindfulness, meditate or engage in activities that bring you joy and relaxation.
5. Announce it to your world (people who matter): Sharing your goals with people who matter can create a sense of accountability and motivation. The encouragement from people who matter can be a driving force in achieving your goals.
